"Star" - HNH Star Games. 2001 bay Arab/Hackney mare. 13.1 1/2" hh.
Star was originally bred to be a trade-in on the 2000 stud fee for "Chaunter" ("Ari" - 2001 colt), but when the stallion owner moved on to New York, "Star" stayed with us.

Started under saddle in early 2004 as a 3 year old, she went to her first local show in April with only 14 days of riding. She was shown in walk/trot classes under Sierra, age 10. Though they didn't "ribbon" in many of their classes, she displayed a remarkable sense of easy dependability.
In April of 2005 she was started over cross rails and was shown at a local show in Wade, NC in June. She did awesome and ribboned in that class, but more important, she again displayed a no-nonsense attitude of performing her job. In December 2005, Star got a new job. She is to be a 4H project for Ashley Ross. Ashley is one of Sierra's classmates and has ridden off and on with us since Dec 2004. Ashley dropped out of the 4H program in March 2006.
On March 18th, 2006, Dani Eldridge visited us with her father, Bret. She rode "Star" in the roundpen for a short bit. Wynn Norman of Sportponies Unlimited was also with us and took pictures and video of "Star" & Sierra. Wynn came back out and had a student of hers ride "Star".
Star was down at Whitehaven Plantation in Bishopville, NC from Memorial Day Weekend 07 through Christmas 07. She enjoyed life with her pasture mate, Xena. Since returning home, she has been ridden for several starting lessons with Michael Porter & his two cousins.

On Sunday, July 27, 2008 Star was handled and ridden by 10 yr old Aimee. Aimee is visiting her aunt, Karen, in Southern Pines and came to see us. Pictures above and on NEWS page. Throughout the fall, Star was trail ridden by Ashley Ross. At Christmas, 2008 - Aimee visited with her parents from TX and rode Star for about an hour.
