We were given an opportunity to lease "Magic" for a year and then to decide if we wanted to purchase her. We drove down to Florida to pick her up over Valentine's day weekend in February 1998.

We were told that she had come from a farm shut down due to abuse and she was definitely very protective of herself. She was quick and decisive - reminding us all of safety around ponies. We followed desensitizing techniques and soon had her leading, standing tied and lounging.

By mid-May, Skye was riding her. We never did get her completely over her fear of ropes around her hind quarters but since we weren't planning on driving - not a problem. She became quite a nice riding pony - first ridden by Skye, then 'Dira. Sierra never quite "clicked" with her and only rode her a few times before going on to other ponies.

"Magic" was utilized in lesson trade off by Liz Harris for riding lessons for several students from NSE Stables. 'Dira received quite a few lessons with Liz through 1999 and 2000. "Magic" was sold in late 2000 bred to "AJ".

We purchased "Magic" back in April 2007 and she is being bred to "Iggy" for a 2008 foal. We've got our work cut out for us - she's back to what I remember in 1998 - ultra sensitive about touching/handling & quick to protect herself if she's upset about it.
